Mediocre movie, but a very delightful score with many sugar-sweet,
touching themes, perfectly arranged for an orchestra, sometimes also for a piano
and a guitar. Partially similar to the score to Forrest Gump in style.
The only downside of this album is the
secondary role Marc Shaiman's best score (!) to date plays among the many songs on the CD. There are only
21 minutes of score. Let us hope for an (unlikely) extended release some time.
Although all the essential themes are there, many fragments are missing, and in
particular the music heard at the funeral.
