A typical John Barry score, of uniform
quality. Practically all tracks sound the same. There are slow trademark Barry
string passages, which are dark rather than beautiful (as in his more romantic
scores). There are also direly chord progressions, often accompanied by timpanis
and snare drums, which surely provides for suspense. Not far from Barry's James
Bond music. As with “Mercury Rising”, Barry has shown himself incapable of
composing real action music. Aside from that, a very effective thriller score to
an average movie.
