Review

No masterpiece, but a decent score for a cult 80's sci-fi soap opera. Dennis McCarthy's style can still be recognized in later Star Trek: The Next Generation (STTNG) and its successors. The “Wedding Fanfare” was even re-used in STTNG to depict the appearance of the almighty Q entity in the role of a judge in the pilot and the final episodes (intended and recorded for both, but not contained in the latter).

The music is slow and quiet most of the time. It was played by a small studio orchestra. The recording suffers from noise. Among the many average tracks, there are some highlights as well (see track rating). Recommended for fans of the series and Dennis McCarthy fans.
